Carrie Lynn Heintzelman Yoga
Sharing yoga with laughter, lightness and positivism...
About Carrie
Carrie is a mom, jewelry artist & yoga instructor in Stowe, VT. She practices yoga daily to maintain a supple body and calm the clamors of an often wandering mind. She has practiced yoga since 2001 when she explored a home practice from a Hatha style book. The practice helped her get to know another side of herself as she ventured through her 20s, searching for the right path.
When she lived in Mammoth Lakes, California and Portland, Oregon she continued to practice a variety of yoga styles to balance the intensity of extreme sports like rock climbing, snowboarding and downhill mountain biking. The yoga practice taught her how to breathe, stretch overworked muscles and stay in the moment.

Upon returning home to the Rochester, NY area, she began studying yoga with Francois Raoult of Open Sky Yoga Center, where she earned her 200 hour teaching certificate in 2013. She leapt into teaching with an open mind and compassionate heart to guide her students from where they are: in pain, in fitness, or simply in need of peace. It's this inspiration and an overwhelming love that guides her teaching.
Most recently, she and her family have moved to Stowe, VT! The community has been so welcoming to them and the joys of snowboarding, mountain biking and fresh mountain air are such a grounding part of their lives. She continues to enjoy her two boys everyday and strives to make space for sharing self-care, movement and mindfulness with the community.
She is dedicated to her own evolution and how the divine healing arts can support her, her family and students in being the best they can be. Off the mat, she's making her best effort to have fun, usually on a bike, board or making dinner! She reminds herself and her students daily, not to take this life too seriously. Life is for laughing, loving & dancing!

Classes & Events
HATHA I
Thursdays 9:00-10:15am
A yoga practice to meet you where you’re at, by honoring the boundaries of your body and mind. We will cultivate a deeper understanding of our body mechanics and gently encourage opening of the muscles, energy pathways and tensing minds. Time will be sequenced with pranayama or meditation and exploratory movement so together we may reach an opportunity to affectionately challenge our body with yoga asanas.
Always anchored in savasana and pure love!

Experience

Carrie has trained at the Open Sky Yoga Center in Rochester, NY with Francois Raoult, where she received her 200 Hour Essential Teacher Training Certification in 2013.
She immediately went on to share yoga with the public at Finger Lakes Yoga Center in Canandaigua, NY. She taught yoga extensively for employees of Wegmans Food Markets, Canandaigua National Bank and Constellation Brands. She has also had the privilege of teaching one on one, or two for those seeking more individualized instruction.
She has since received a certificate in Back Care Yoga Teacher Training from Open Sky Yoga Center. Having experienced back pain and incredibly tight muscles, Carrie teaches from her own learned benefits. This is truly a yoga practice for all, whether you want to maintain a healthy spine or are looking to ease chronic pain, there is a place for yoga in your life!
Most recently she has received a teaching certificate in Prenatal & Postpartum Yoga with Carla Anselm of the Open Sky Yoga Center.
The prenatal/postpardum yoga practice was essential to her preparation for the birth of both her sons Connor and Gavin, as well as the recovery. She thrives on sharing this knowledge with other mothers who expect themselves to be as they once were. The yoga practice helps guide us and honor all that we are now.
Her journey is continuously inspired by new healing modalities, evolving styles of yoga and energy healing.
